Yay! We’re famous!

For those of you here in NC–did you see the article in Wednesday’s N&O about the guy in Durham training for PBP?  It was a great piece.  My daughter was funny that morning, and, as usual, alarmingly astute.  When I went in to wake her up, I was just chatting away, and I told her that there was a big long article in the paper about a man in Durham training for PBP.  First words out of her mouth that morning:  “Oh good.  Now maybe when you say you’re going to PBP, someone will know what you’re talking about.”

I didn’t point out to her that she’s the one who expects people to know; I always just say I’m training for a crazy long bike ride.  If she’s around, she chimes in with “It’s PBP,” and then is perplexed when the other person ignores her.

I can’t complain–it’s kind of nice to have a child who’s proud of me (puberty looms, at which point I’ll be the most embarrassing mother ever!).

Off for the frostbite ride now; it’s currently 36 degrees, so let’s hope that name isn’t too prescient.

It was great riding with you Saturday during the frostbite ride. Those were the best miles for me 60-80 when I was really dragging after the break. Those miles just flew by– so thanks.

It was quite the adventure for me headed back to Fairfax as it started pouring snow just north of Richmond and just got worse and worse until I got home. I made it though and I am so glad I did the frostbite ride.

See you soon hopefully.

Take care.

Your new friend,

Lisa, I’d say your training is paying off. You look great at Frostbite. The best part of the ride was the leisurely last 15 miles we did up Antioch Church Rd. One of those perfect cycling moments, when the wind dies, the air warms and the conversation rolls.

We want to see you on the Lake Loop. Please join us.
